Introduced by Wild Boar Farms in 2013, the Amethyst Jewel tomato is a nice improvement on the ever popular anthocyanin tomatoes. This is the first one that we've had at our tomato taste testing trials that had real tomato flavor. They are beautiful in the garden and produce abundantly. The more sun that each tomato receives, the deeper the blue color. Later fruits on the vine tend to be lighter in color. They ripen to a deep pink blush

Propagation Methods: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit . Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.
